Frank + Laurelle, 21st April 2012, Fairway Hotel

Its been a hectic few weeks, and we will be happy to welcome the Josi winter months when wedding season is a little more manageable. Our blog is usually really up to date with us blogging just about every client but unfortunately that hasn’t been possible over the past few weeks! We leave for a wedding in Cape Town tmw morning but we just wanted to load this post before we head off to the Midlands next week for the wedding of one of the bridesmaids in this post below! At Frank & Laurelles wedding we were greeted by 3 of our previous brides, so by the end of next week, we would have shot 5 weddings in this friendship group! Thank you to all out loyal clients who have followed our work over the years and for letting us do what we love so very much! YOU GUYS ROCK! Cant wait for next weekend!!!! We really loved the clean, freshness of this job! Congratulations to you guys on your wedding and your soon to be expected new adventure!

Michele Patmore - May 14, 2012 - 08:24

Wow these are too stunning. Xxxx

Andrew + Claire, 14th April 2012, Memoire

It just so happens at times we land up shooting at the same venue for a few shoots in a row! Well the past few weeks have been a bit of that, although we have 5 destination weddings in May, all over the country, including the Midlands, Drakensberg, Cape Town, and Nelspruit, we have shot a number of weddings at the ever loyal Memoire! Thank you to Jaco and his team for always recommending us so highly! We didn’t want to post all the Memoire weddings in a row although they were all awesome! This post is really just a shout out to Memoire and a Congratulations to Claire and Andrew on an awesome shoot! Well done guys!

BRANDON & TANIA, 31-03-12. Memoire wedding venue

When you have a spurt of weddings at one particular venue, this is where you start to notice that weddings are not only made up of a stunning venue, food & decor but especially the friends and family and the moments in between. Memoire hosted this wedding. We just loved the bubbly persona of Tania who just wanted to burst out of her skin on the day! Thank you for using Tyme and on behalf of the team here we congratulate you both on getting married! All the best!

Venue: Memoire

Nadine - May 12, 2012 - 19:27

The wedding was beautifull. I am happy to have been a part of this celebration.

Christelle Taute - May 12, 2012 - 18:12

Tania was such a beautiful bride and the venue was the perfect setting for an awesome couple.

Jenna + Vaughan, 7th April 2012, Memoire Wedding Venue

Jenna  and Vaughan got married at Memoire on a day with some wicked light! We just loved the ‘marshmallow’ light on this job, how can you not! Thanks so much for having us guys, we wishing all our regular bloggers a nice long weekend!

Vaughan Mason - May 4, 2012 - 09:13

Helen Tilbury - April 30, 2012 - 10:58

Wow great job!! (and what a wedding!)

Riaan + Jeannine, 21st March 2012, Turbine Hall

This wedding could easily be amongst our favorites we have shot! It was what we think all weddings should be like! Just the very closest of friends and family, and lots of emotion!!! Laughter, tears and more laughter! Even Dylan and I were choked up behind our lenses! This family has been through much together, including serious illness and the absolute love, acceptance and adoration was so evident in the room! J & R got married at the awesome Turbine Hall and got ready at the ever cute Room With A View in Melville! Jeannine was like a porcelain doll, I just loved photographing her ever classic beauty! What made it even more special was that Jeannine’s mother made her  wedding dress despite her very serious illness! What a blessing to have our moms be part of the greatest moments in our lives!

We just loved the one long table for this small party of 35 people! The fact that they served refreshments and snacks before the ceremony was an awesome way to get their guests relaxed right from the start! We also loved that they chose to do their portraits before their ceremony so as to maximize their time with their guests, they really were the hosts! Riaans re-action to when he sees her for the first time is so precious with Dylan and I both photographing from outside the room from a distance! So awesome that they got to interact intimately rather than in front of a crowd! Thanks so much for allowing us into this intimate moment to capture your story! It was an honor, I hope we’ve told it well!

Ryan + Crystal, 20th March 2012, Red Ivory Lodge

Ryan and Crystal had an awesome pre-shoot done some months before their wedding, so we were excited to capture their special connection on their big day! You may remember it in an earlier post: PRE-SHOOT. It’s always a pleasure to shoot at Red Ivory Lodge, Ryan and Crystal’s wedding was no exception! This was a really fun bunch of people, we hoped to capture the essence of this crowd! We got some awesome party shots we will save for the bride and grooms eyes first. Congratulations guys, we hope you enjoy the sneak peak! Thanks again for having us!

Mandy - May 9, 2012 - 15:27

Absolutely gorgeous pictures, but then Crystal and Ryan are both gorgeous people. The setting was truly an African dream wedding.
Congratulations x

Rikki - April 18, 2012 - 18:00

WOW!! Crystal looked amazing! So beautifully captured!

Gavin + Michelle, 18th March 2012

So this post is a little more personal to the Tyme office! We went back and forth a few times with Gavin and Michelle with dates, trying to ensure that we were available for the date they wanted to get married on! We started out as aquaintances moving in similar circles but have ended as friends! It was also a more personal job as our ‘magic maker’ Kara (in house editor) is good friends with the couple and was a guest at the wedding! So with many friends in common the pressure was on to make this a great shoot! Well done to Gav & Mich for an awesome wedding! We really just had to pitch up and shoot in the right direction:-) We just loved the city scape they chose for their portraits, we loved the clean simple lines and freshness of this job! Wishing you guys all the  happiness that marriage can bring!

WOW! What a beautiful wedding. I noticed that some of the photos were taken at the Neighbourgoods Market – is that where your reception was held too? What a stunning venue – and you guys are such a beautiful couple.

Scarlet & Wesley - April 2, 2012 - 22:22

Absolutely stunning!!! Love how you guys captured the true essence of Gavin and Michelle…. a complete fairtale wedding!! Congrats Gav & Mich :)

Michael + Nicolene, 17th March 2012

We just loved the quaint touches to this wedding,  So soft and yummy, like love and life should be, just filled with all things pretty, gentle, real, down to earth and don’t forget the fun!  We are happy to see the finish line for the month of March, our busiest for 2012, something about this month that makes people want to get married! After finishing our 5th wedding in 7 days last week – looking forward to getting back to basics in April!  Keep posted for some WHOPPER posts that we are dying to share with you all!  This week finally saw us being able to start the process of a new product we just LOVE, that is not only magnificent, its also earth friendly, something we will tell you about soon! Have a great weekend!

M. van Schalkwyk - April 30, 2012 - 12:20

Ronald + Jillian, 10th March 2012, Velmore

R & J got married at Velmore earlier this month!   We were so stoked to be shooting another Asian wedding, we just loved the richness of this job!   All the beautiful people really made this job amongst our favorites! Jill was such a stunning bride and we were thrilled at the traditional tea ceremony during the reception that just made for such beautifully lit shots!  We also loved the way they chose to include their parents wedding photo’s!   Adding to their family legacy! After all, these images will last a lifetime, they will live on even when we have passed!  We feel that one of Tyme’s differentiators is that we can shoot to suit the style of the wedding, you will be used to seeing our work as very light, happy and free,  with this job we really wanted to stay true to our style while bringing back the drama! Hope you love it as much as we do!

Love your images. Beautiful bride and a fun wedding.

Bianca - March 27, 2012 - 13:19

Really love this wedding guys, stunning shots!!!

Pierre + Barbara, 3rd March 2012, Red Ivory Lodge

P & B decided to do some of their portraits before their actual ceremony, they kept that first glance of each other for themselves, which we just LOVE!

So much more intimate and special when its a moment between the two of you and not a room full of people, and the way Pierre put it, he gets to live that

moment twice over on the day, he was just as emotional when Barbara was coming down the aisle.

We just loved this set of images that captured their special moment, especially since as he put it, he is not a cryer:-)

This also gave them time to enjoy one of the most exciting times of the day with their guests, cocktail hour, which most brides and grooms miss because they

are having their photos taken. Think about it, may be a refreshing change?

VENUE: Red Ivory Lodge

What happens in Vegas….

So we are sitting at the airport in Vegas waiting to board our very long flight home, almost 20 hours, but so looking forward to getting back to share all we have learnt and start implementing some amazing techniques, skills and ideas learnt here. We wanted to share just why we came to Las Vegas right in the middle of our high season in SA. Yes the workflow would have slowed down a little but it has all been worth it. For those of you that have followed our work over the past few years, you would have noticed how it is forever growing, changing, improving (we hope)! Dylan and I are both self taught photographers, never really had much training in our art. For the most part the WPPI would mean nothing to our clients but it is one of the only conventions held in the world that brings in many of the worlds best photographers all to the same place to share, exchange, inspire! Since we are always aiming to grow and reach new heights, we thought where else? What a great environment to place yourself to learn from others and make sure that our clients are getting the absolute best service and products available, not just in South Africa but the very best availble!
This trip has been very inspiring and humbling at the same time! There are so many talented people around and it really is an honor to do what we do! At the same time it helped us recognize our strengths and keep improving on them. We hope that this inspiration will filter down to all our amazing clients when putting together their big days! And I am sure you will be happy to walk this journey of improving, learning, growing, and sharing together with us in the months and blog posts to come! Come visit again by the end of the week for our awesome couples shoot in NYC and a few highlights from our trip. I guess this time it won’t be “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!”

NYC

So we currently sitting in our Vegas hotel room at the Tropicana sharing notes from today’s class and reviewing our shots from our recent shoot in NYC. So before we load those shots up we wanted to share this photo that we really loved! Believe it or not, it was like – 3 ‘C and after a 1/2 hr, we were not making any sense while we spoke because our faces were numb! NYC is an amazing city and we could spend 3 weeks there alone but alas we had to move on for further education in crazy Vegas! Love it!

WPPI 2012

So the Tyme Team has decided to wizz off to USA for learning, networking and shooting!!! With a shoot or two under our belts in New York we zip off to the ‘WPPI 2012′ in Vegas for some networking and learning from the leaders around the world in Wedding Photography. Then its time for a road trip, not sure where yet, but we will see where the wind blows us! So until March, thank you to all our clients and we will chat again next Month! We will be available periodically via e-mail, thank you.
